- Always observe the highway speed limits.
- Leave a safe distance between the vehicle in front and yours.
- Give yourself enough time to react to avoid a mishap.
- Keep in the left lane unless overtaking.
- Use your indicators if you have to stop, change lanes and overtake.
- Always check your mirrors before changing lanes including returning to the left lane after overtaking.
- Take extra care when trucks and other large vehicles are present on the roadway. They tend to have larger blind spots.
- It is always best to drive in a lower gear when going up a steep incline.
