Welcome to the Jamaica North-South Highway Company Limited (JNSHC) website. Our company was formed by China Communications Construction Company, the private company responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of a 66.470-kilometer road for a concessionary period of fifty years. We are proud to be playing a vital role in upgrading Jamaica's infrastructure, creating economic opportunities for growth, and providing jobs for skilled and unskilled workers in areas such as management, engineering, maintenance operations, administration, and other areas of specialization.

The Jamaica North-South Highway project is a result of friendly negotiations between the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) and China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC). It is the centerpiece of a multi-year Millennium Projects Programme, initiated by the GOJ, aimed at upgrading the country's infrastructure and providing economic opportunities for growth and job creation.

The project commenced in December 2012, and the first section of the highway that opened to motorists was Section 2 on August 5, 2014, with the collection of toll fares beginning on September 6, 2015. This Section of the highway consists of a hard shoulder, slow & fast lanes, as well as truck lanes in some areas, with several interchanges.

The entire leg of the highway was officially opened on March 23, 2016, providing Jamaicans with a faster, safer, and more efficient way to travel between Kingston and Ocho Rios. The Jamaica North-South Highway is a world-class infrastructure project that has significantly improved Jamaica's transportation network, boosting economic growth and providing employment opportunities for Jamaicans. Join us on this journey to a brighter future.
